KC Light Rail

Your source for news and information on Kansas City’s light rail progress

Another light rail endorsement

From the Sun Gazette.

In the bigger picture, light rail is part of being a thriving metro, something Kansas City struggles to maintain. Light rail also adds to the vitality and life of a city that an extended bus system simply cannot do alone.

A thriving metro without even 1 million people in the downtown central core of the city. Sorry but with such low density KC just won’t ever be a 24/7 city. If you go to New York or D.C the towns go all night. As for the Sun Gazette I don’t think anyone one at the paper could go a one one one with anyone on a Light Rail debate. They would look as bad as the Mayor did on the Nick’s show Thur. night.

I am not voting for the light rail now. I was until I kept getting political mail about it. Why do they have to send out multiple mailings about the same issue? It is a waste of money. Use that money to fix items around town. Then we wouldn’t need to raise more taxes and lay people off. Just saying…

you can’t be serious. it’s a political campaign, not your tax dollars. why not tackle the “protected” status of non-political junk mail, which produces far more waste and arrives daily.

Here we are without enough money for the xmas tree fund so some of the children will do without gifts this year, the police dept lacking funds, no decent bus service for the Northland, water & sewer going up 9% per year for the next 5 years, but we are wanting a $billion dollars for Light Rail. Guess the Mayor didn’t want to make those hard decisions he promised, and just say NO.
